![]() We thought a few coat hooks on the entrance to the room would have been useful, especially as we had soaking wet coats to hang up each day. A couple of nights we heard rumbling noises which we assumed may have been freight trains otherwise it was so quiet. This was a brilliant view and generally a very quiet room. We had a superb fifth floor room overlooking the river towards the film museum and across the station platforms. Take care with bikes it’s crazy around the station and around the city with very fast cyclists.…Īs soon as we walked in we were greeted and given a seat while the brilliant staff checked us in, staying for four nights we must have met most of the staff and every single one was helpful, thoughtful and kind. ![]() Good job they are refurbishing it in 2024. The Eurostar part of station is very small so you are very cramped waiting for trying to go home lol. On departure, we used the left luggage room which was free rather than the secure storage lockers in hotel. We didn’t use the hotel safe and locked valuables into our case. Im constantly on alert for thieves but we didn’t get any issues at all. Ladies bring a cross body bag as rucksacks have to go into the lockers in the museums. Rembrandts house and the Rijksmuseum are musts. Lots of great canal boat trips nearby with all budgets. Tram system is very cheap and excellent service. It’s pretty much London prices here but found a reasonable Spanish tapas bar round the corner with great food. If you like a glass of wine I didn’t manage to get a decent one by the glass so I stuck to Prosecco and of course plenty of Heineken for the hubby. It looked very busy tho as quite small breakfast area. We didn’t have the breakfast but loads of cafes nearby. There wasn’t a kettle in room so we took our travel one with us, however, they do provide one if you ask. ![]() Reception were excellent and very kind when we had to amend the booking due to our mum being seriously ill. Lovely room 969 overlooking rooftops of city centre. I previously read some negative reviews about this hotel but having been here in last few days we were pleasantly surprised.
